Do you have to be a member of Southern Water Polo to participate in practices?

No. If you are a member of another water polo club in San Diego, you do not need to be a member of Southern Water Polo. However, you are required to have a current USA Water Polo membership, completed the team snap registration and pay the monthly fee for liability reasons. 

Do I have to pay the monthly fee even if I am unable to attend every practice?

Yes. The monthly fee is designed to keep cost of participation down.

Is there a trial period?

Yes. We welcome any new participants to a free, one week trial period. A current water polo membership is still required.

What is the age requirement?

While masters is typically geared towards adults over the age of 19. If a parent/guardian/caretaker understands the risks associated with playing contact sports with adults and the child (participants under the age of 19) has a current USAWP membership, they are more than welcome to participate. 

Is the team gender specific?

Currently the Southern Masters Team is co-ed and any athlete regardless of gender may participate.

Will there be any games or tournaments?

Potentially yes. If we have enough members interested in competition we will enter games or tournaments. Tournaments may require an additional fee to cover team entry fee.
